This young American golfer sprang to prominence very early in 2008. He is currently ranked at number 14 in the world rankings but has been as high as sixth. A synopsis of his form over the last year or two is below.
Form
Kim sprang a big surprise when he finished 3rd in the Bob Hope Classic in the early part of 2008. He continued his good form throughout the year during which he won the Wachovia Championship to record his maiden PGA win. He proved that this was no fluke by winning the AT&T National just a few weeks later. In addition to his two tour wins, Kim also had a total of ten top ten finishes. This was form that justified his selection for the victorious US Ryder Cup team back in September 2008.
This year he started equally as well finishing in a tie for second place in the Mercedes Benz Championship in January. However he has not continued at that level and has had only one top twenty finish since which came in the WGC Accenture Matchplay.
Currently Kim is a 40-1 shot in the US Masters Betting to win the US Masters. It will be his first appearance at Augusta, but he has played a total of five Majors so far with his best position being in a tie for 7th place in the 2008 British Open.
Betting Assessment
Kim proved in the Ryder Cup last year that he an excellent temperament for the big occasion and he has the abilty to spring a surprise. However his form has not been great recently and he may find there will be a few too many players who will have greater resolve than he. He is an outside chance at most.
