Stenson has been in and out of the world's top ten for a couple of years now and is currently 8th in the world rankings.

He had no individual tournament wins in 2008 and is yet to get off the mark this year. He did however win, jointly with partner, Robert Karlsson win the Nedbank Challenge. It can be said he was unlucky as he managed to secure eleven top ten finishes in 2008 and so far this year he has three more, including third places in the Dubai Desert Classic, won by Rory McIlroy and last week at the Houston Open won by Paul Casey.

This will be his fourth US Masters, he tied 17th in both 2008 and 2007 and missed the cut in 2006. His best finishes in Majors were his tied third place in the British Open and his tied 4th place in the PGA Championship both in 2008.
