Jim FurykThis former US Open Champion from 2003 is currently ranked number 15 in the world rankings, although he has been a long time top ten player. He has 21 professional career wins. In addition to his win at the US Open in 2003 he has also finished runner-up twice in 2006 and 2007, behind Tiger Woods and Angel Cabrera respectively. The US Masters has not been his best event but he has played well here, due mainly to his excellent putting. He first played Augusta in 1996 and has been an ever present since. with the exception of 2004 when he was ruled out through injury. His best finish was 4th in 1998 and again in 2003.

Over the last 18 months or so, Furyk has not managed to win a Tournament, but had an impressive nine top ten finishes in 2008 and has had a further two in 2009, including a very creditable third place in the WGC CA Championship last month.

Betting Assessment

Furyk is one of those players that should not be ruled out despite what the odds of 66/1 suggest about him. He is a highly capable player with a great temperament and if he is there or thereabouts on the final day he could so easily win. He would certainly be a worthy each way option
