US Masters Venue - Augusta National

US Masters AugustaLocated in the City of Augusta in the State of Georgia, the Augusta National Golf Club remains one of the most exclusive Golf Clubs in the World. It was founded by the legendary amateur golfer, Bobby Jones. The course lies on the site of a former indigo plantation and was originaly designed by Alister MacKenzie. It opened for play in 1933 and has since 1934, been host to the opening Major Golf Tournament of the year, the US Masters. It is a club with a revered and controversial reputation that only allowed African American membership in 1990 and to this day, it remains closed to female membership.

Augusta National is renowned for its beauiful landscapes and is in full bloom and looking its best when the tournament is played in mid April. Each hole on the course is named after a shrub or tree from which it has become associated.
